ADAA Academy has been established with a vision to carry forward the tradition of Indian classical and folk dances in its purest form. Our founder, Mrs. Ashima Sharma qualified NET-JRF 2023 in Performing Arts, and is currently pursuing her PhD in Kathak under Padmashree Dr. Puru Dadheech Ji. She is an accomplished National Artist selected by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The students of ADAA Academy have performed in Indian Republic Day Parade 2024, Raj Bhawan 2024, Virasat 2023 and various other prestigious national platforms. The academy also holds a unique record of always achieving first division in their Kathak exams. ADAA Academy has conducted workshops at Doon School, DIT University, EMRS, Ministry of Tribal Affairs and many more esteemed institutions. In doing so, we seek to challenge established norms and develop the courage to dance our own dance, while at the same time being informed about the heritage, cultures, influences and language of other dance styles and forms, viewpoints and ideas.

Ashima Sharma (M.A.Kathak) is a dreamer, dancer, choreographer, teacher and a Kathak artist. Her objective is to promote Indian culture across the world through this beautiful medium.
She started dancing aged three, learnt Kathak locally at first and now is an accomplished National Artist.
She was awarded the prestigious Kala Samman Award and Kala Vaibhav Samman by U.S.S.N.A. and the Most Graceful Dancer at Nataranjali 2019, Kolkata. From judging National Level Dance Competitions to auditioning talents for various TV shows to teaching Kathak dance to the young boys of the renowned The Doon School, Dehradun, she has been advocating Indian values whilst adding her own creativity.
She quit her flourishing corporate job as an Associate Producer at Zee TV, Mumbai to start her own dance studio – Doon Talent Studio in 2017 (presently known as ADAA Academy) for Dance, Music, Theatre and Art classes. Even though dance is her first love, she encourages all her students to follow their dreams.
